The 1972 Monte Carlo & RAC Rallies were memorable events, not least for the emphatic win by Roger Clark & Tony Mason on the RAC in '72 at the wheel of the Escort RS1600. This was a wet & windy RAC based in York and is said to be one of the greatest events with Clark haveing fasatest times on 25 of the 72 stages.
